The Lyceum Service solution consists of an Oracle database engine operating on redundant servers that are Internet accessible to all applicable personnel through a password-protected user interface. The Service is based on a unique Point-in-Time (PiT) architecture. Each data entry, action, event and interactive rule is time-stamped (stored at a point in time) and partitioned by customer. This PiT Architecture enables fully automated adjustments (retroactive) processing, provides complete access to an historical audit trail, automates back out of any personnel/payroll action and enables tracking of input errors.

The Service architecture is web-based enabled by the Microsoft ASP.NET framework running on a Windows Server platform. The application is constructed in multiple software layers chosen to provide maximum scalability, security, and redundancy. All services communicate with an underlying Oracle database, the central repository for all application, organization and user data.
